Default Air Hawk Cruiser R query?

I'm contemplating an airhawk mainly to add comfort, but also to raise me up a bit (I know it doesn't raise you by much) but what I don't want is for the pad to curve up the back of the seat and push me slightly further forward. Does anyone have the Airhawk Cruiser R Large and can confirm whether or not it sits completely flat on the 'base' of the touring seat (of a Road King) or whether it curves up the back of the seat too please?

Sits dead flat on my low profile solo seat. Love it.

I have the older style, not the 'R' but i can tell you that even with the tiniest amount of air in it,it feels like it's raising me up too much. So,I hardly ever use it,but it just might be useful to you.

Thanks for the info. Any extra height is great for me, the more the better

The problem is the extra height isn't stable. You'll feel like you're sitting on top of a big jello mold. Every time you brake, you'll pitch foward on the seat, and every time you accelerate you'll pitch back. They really are made to be run with very little air in them. If you feel unstable, it generally means you have too much air.

I've had the Airhawk R for a long time, on several bikes. On all but one I basically left it off for anything but the last hour in a 5+ hour ride, just to alleviate some accumulated pressure soreness. And even then, I had to run minimal amount of air in it or else it felt like I was wobbling all over the place

I'm not sure of the "R" type size but I have one my wife used with our Dyna for her passenger seat. This one measures 11"X 9" its called/model is "Cruiserpillion". She doesn't need it any more as the Dyna went down the road and was replaced with a 03 Road King having a much more larger seat for here skinny lil a $ $.

And it Didn't move on her on the Dyna. If interested in it could just be for sale. PM me if interested.

That very much sounds like what I experienced when I had one on the GS. I think I'll take a punt on one though, I can always sell it on if I don't like it.

Airhawk was designed for minimal amount of air. If you slide back and forth it is not right. While sitting if you lift one cheek up you should feel the air go to the other cheek.

Set it up right and you wont be selling it. I sold my Hammock seat when I bought the Airhark R and tried it on my 4500 mile trip to Wyoming and Sturgis.
