That's great...thanks for confirming buell95! I ordered up a set yesterday from Direct Cycle Parts. They recommend staying with the "standard" for up to 400 lbs. I'm 210 and my wife is 130 so that leaves us another 60 for gear...more than enough.
Likewise! Have had Fox Shox on sleds for years and very pleased with them.

getting the HD version, Wife and I rode 210 miles yesterday on the standard version and had to have the preload set to max and the Rebound damping set to firm just so it wouldn’t bottom out. Got the wrong info when ordering, I weigh 190 wife 170 standards are to light

You should consider sending them back and

Also the info I got on the springs isn’t correct
Fox doesn’t have just the springs readily available yet. So doing a spring change isn’t going to happen

I received my standard spring equipped shocks based on the info I got from the supplier I ordered through. Bolted them up yesterday and went for a ride. I'm 210 lbs + gear + what's in the tour pak & bags. I used the guide and set the preload to 3 (230 lbs) and left the rebound at the middle (12 clicks) position. I gotta say I'm very impressed with the ride quality and sure it will get better once I fine tune. Problem is it now magnifies how bad the front end is so that's next.
My issue though may be with what you eluded to when 2-up. My wife is 130 so the two of us are 340 + gear, etc. According to the spec chart sent with the shocks, the standard springs don't even go to 340 lbs...it's showing 280 lbs with the preload at 5 (max). I'm thinking I'll need to get the HD springs as well. Will try to get out 2-up this weekend and get the sag set properly to see how it performs. I did speak with the supplier yesterday and if needed, they'll work with me to get the HD springs.

Hey buell...I read in another shock post here where you seem to be very pleased with the Fox Shox now that you have the HD springs. You also mention that originally you got the wrong spring info...which I think I did as well. What is the correct spring info...the spec chart included from Fox? With the HD springs, where are you at on the preload setting when 2-up with your wife?

Fox racing shocks has a long history of roadracing and offload. They really are in my opinion one of the best out there. If money were no option I could put fox shocks in all 4 corners of my miata rf and it would give me 7 inches of rear wheel travel over the stock 3 or 4. Crazy adjustable and very high quality.

On another note...how do you find the Fox (with correct springs) compared to your Ohlins?

This is a weird line in the sand between the two versions. Me alone with gear on a long day trip or several days overnight would be approaching 240lbs. I would think once anyone rides 2-up they will exceed 240lbs. So it looks like if you ever ride 2-up you have to go with the HD version. I'm glad you posted this info and saved me the trouble. Now trying to decide between these and the Russ Wernimont.
