Default Worth it to upgrade ONLY the driving lights to LED on road King?

I drive a lot on unlit backrounds. I experimented by driving with only my driving lights only to find out they really dont throw much light at all. Is it worth upgrading only the driving lights to LED and leaving the stock headlight in?

Plenty of threads on LED here in the forums, have you checked them? Why would you not swap out all your front lights? I wouldn't leave stock headlight in, changed all mine out 2 years ago, 5X's better.

The more light the better. Especially on those deer-infested dark backroads.

the Sunpie LED front light kit on Amazon is short money, there have been complaints that the headlight is aimed too high... you may have to play with it to get it where you want, but for around 100 dollars you can't go wrong IMHO

the 55 watt bulbs on the stock lights are going to throw almost nothing for light where you need it

I've been running the Sunpie LED headlight and running lights for a few months now. I did add a spacer to get more adjustment on the headlight. As well as cutting off some screws that were too long and interfered with the adjustment.

About 45 to figure that out and make adjustments.

You should change out the headlamp as well. I went with a headlamp from United Pacific and passing lamps from Eagle Lights. The light output is amazing. You can check out tests of multiple headlamps at the website Headlamp Revolution. As a side note the United Pacific lamp fits in the factory bucket without any adapter ,doesn't protrude like many other led lamps, and looks similar to the factory headlamp. It's not as cheap as the Sunpie, but nowhere near as expensive as some of the other lamps out there.

To answer your question, yes, it would be worth it and help dramatically for seeing the sides of the road. But it would look stupid IMO.

Change them all. You will not regret it. LED's are awesome.

You could certainly go ahead and just replace the driving lights, but as was said already, it would not look right. It would help, but it would look really funky. One thing I noticed since I switched to LED on my '13 RK is that drivers see me more easily. I think there is something to the way the LED lights look that break up what the semi-conscious drivers see in their rear-view, it's not just another headlight. When splitting lanes, more folks seem to see me and give me room to get through, so there is maybe an added benefit of visibility.
