Default Building a solid bagger.

I’d like my RK to be rock solid at 130+ as well as Ride on rails when hitting really fast sweepers.

I’ll eventually put a big build in that can produce the needed power but I feel it’s pointless unless the bikes chassis is set to handle the torque and top speed.

Anyone already running a performance setup like that?

I wanna be comfortable keeping up with those BMW’s and such but don’t want to give up my Harley to do it. I know I’ll never be able to get the money back out of it but why would I want to if I had a Road King that could run like that?

I don't think with the way these things are designed that you will be able to achieve that kind of rigidity. Adding the frame stabilizers which you have listed along with high end front and rear suspension that is about as good as it's going to get. Sounds like you need a second bike.

A hodgepodge of after market parts isn't going to run with a purpose built bike. And fast sweeper and Harley bagger should never be in the same sentence.

A Road Glide fairing would be good place to start....

Yeah, I hear you. The rear end of my bagger gets a little squirrelly at 130 as well...

With twenty plus years on BMW sport tourers......there is nothing you can do that will allow a RoadKing to keep up with them, especially in the twisties.
if that kind of riding is what you are looking for then buy a BMW as a second bike.
no offense but your dreaming to think a RK can do what a BMW can do, same goes for the reverse

I disagree with most of the people above. It’ll cost you, and you might not be RIGHT with a new Bmw, but you can certainly be close. Rider has a bigger influence than the bike but Suspension and brakes are most important to change IMO. Check out the “performance baggers” thread. Lots of people shredding twisties with these big pigs.

It can be done, but in the case of this video it's not about what he put on the bike, it's all about the equipment hanging between his legs!!!! After the first rear end slide early in the video, this dude doesn't even flinch, just grabs more throttle. His bike must have mandatory indentions on the tank to hold the brass..........I'm upgrading him, not brass, this guy has titanium *****!
