2020 Road Glide limited, to answer Gov5 questions. Where did that come from as far as price ? Well here you go,blacked out engine pipes you pay 1k extra, it's an option. Reflex braking system add another 1k, it's an option. The paint was a color option, $700 bucks more. Bike had to the phone link package and add in freight and destination charges.. That is were the price came from. Oh, add 8 percent tax to the price and you now are over 36k with no additional farkles added. So, If I wanted to trade-in my 012 Ultra in on it which is in like new condition, by bike and over 24k is the difference.Thats before I add one accessory to the new bike. After riding Harleys since the 80's , that is just ridiculous. They also had a new CVO Street Glide 48,+ k for that with tax 52k. With no Electric Glide or Ultra Glide in the 2020 ,line up with a trunk including in the MSRP , Harley has forced customers to buy limited models. IMHO that's wishful thinking on Harleys part. Not everyone wants or will spend extra to get a limited..If Harley is wondering why sales have been declining in the last six years, business decisions like this are what is killing sales. I will add that any motorcycle regardless of make at 30k and over plus tax is ridiculous. There is nothing on a new Limited, or CVO for that matter that makes them anywhere near that money . With the economy booming and Harley's financial statements what they have been, if they think things are bad now, wait till a recession hits..and it will happen sooner or later..

When I bought my 2019 cvo sg nothing was mentioned about a over the msrp premium. It was brought up while we were doing the paperwork on the bike, I looked at it and there was a $3k "dealer premium" listed. I said what is this and please explain. He went on to give me some **** and bull story about how dealers only get so many cvo's and certain colors are even harder to get. I said I absolutely refuse to pay that fee, he put up zero fight, put a line through it and said ok. I was actually kind of surprised that he didnt try to counter with less or something, literally just said "ok" and took it off. I guess they do that because there are some suckers out there who just signs the paper and let's it go, guess they figure hey, we might as well try!
Several dealers in GA have a 'Special Price' of $81,995, $9000 for added extras.
Read the listings of extras; were the same as a car for $72,995.
Guess they figure some dude will come in and feel he is getting a bargain.

BUT, I do agree with you 100% about $30,000 motorcycle pricing. They isn't one made that's worth that. Maybe a trike, but not a two wheel. I know I'll catch flak about that statement, but I don't care. It's the way I feel.
And also like you, I feel like the MoCo spit in our collective faces by taking the Ultra Classic out of the line up. I don't want, or need, all the extra stuff the Limited has on it. And Harley WON'T force me to buy a Limited when all I need is a Classic. I will buy something else when it's time to replace my 2015 Ultra Classic...and right now I don't see that replacement in Harley's offerings, if you know what I mean. I would have been more than glad to replace my 2015 with a newer 2019 or 2020 Ultra Classic, but that option is no longer possible. THANKS HARLEY! You greedy Turkeys!
For me, Harley's last shot at me is going to be the Pan American. BUT, and this is KEY, it better be in the 500 lb range, and it better be, with saddlebags, under $20,000, and shaft drive. If it isn't, Harley just lost another 20+ year customer.

Block the post ? Why ? There was no dealer mark up.My Harley dealer never has any special dealer pricing. That is why they are still in business after sixty years. If ,you don't believe the pricing, take a ride to Newburgh, New York go to Union Avenue and walk around the show room and see for yourself. Neither bike was marked sold, so they should still be on the floor. By the way, the option are Harley factory options, nothing added by the dealership to the bike out of the parts and accessories catolog to increase the cost. Limited Road Glide, pretty much loaded from the factory with reflex braking, alarm, blacked out paint.

Yeah nighttrain It hot and humid in the summer, but spring and fall are beautiful times to ride, upstate NY is great 9n over the crown point bridge and then down through Vergennes is a great tide.
Gov5, I hear you brother.. I have been riding Harleys since the 80's, yes, I have owned other brands too. You are correct, when you can keep you present Harley and for the same price as a trade deal to another new Harley, go buy a new Goldwing, BMW RT or a 1600b bagger, two Triumph t120 Bonnie's, there a problem IMHO. I love my Harley, but I can't see spending 24k to make a trade then having to add options to replace what I already have on my present machine. Cutting choices out if the2020 line up is a mistake. If, Harley thinks folks are just going to spend more to get a limited if they want to ride a Harley, I think they are wrong. My dealer said, " When I can't sell you a new machine, something is wrong." Yes, there is..not the dealers fault either, " I can't sell you something they no longer make."

Sorry. My total came to $32K (+or-) a few bucks not $30K (my mistake). But MSRP on my Ultra was $30,289. before I added the extras. Basically all my add ons and labor were free if you consider tax, prep, documents and MSRP would've brought me to around $33K+.
