2019 bad motor

bad motor
Yeah, really made a loud demand, but Shenandoah HD doesn't have DEMO's. Talked to HD Customer Care and they said warranty doesn't encompass vehicle loaners. I noticed that Shenandoah HD had a 2018 Electra Glide Police model. I asked them to work up a deal on the 2018 FLHTP, remembering that they have a very upset owner of a '19 FLHR that has a factory defect and in not being ridden. It's a shame ain't it ? I wonder if HD has ever heard that a GOOD rep. is long to earn, but a BAD rep. comes quickly ! The story continues. Bob

Loaner bikes aren't as common as cars as for most, bike isn't primary transportation.
However, this is reasonable and what I'd ask for:
Extend the warranty as you without bike AND ask the Moco to make a monthly payment, as I'm guessing you financed it.
Keep us up to date, it's too bad a smaller dealer doesn't have demo bikes. Does that mean they also don't offer demo rides or sell used bikes?

I’m going to throw this around again.
As mentioned by many, doing your own maintenance is perfectly legal and within the rules of your factory warranty. I took mine in for the 1,000 mile but did all of the other since then myself in my garage.
Also mentioned, keep receipts for filters and oil. The service writer at my favorite dealer highly suggested I use HD syn3 oil. He said with an engine failure the first thing they do is an oil analysis. Maybe true, maybe not.
i take it one step further on my motorcycle and our cars while under warranty. I take pics and short videos with a smart phone while I am doing whatever maintenance I am doing. Take shots along the way and remember to photo your odometer. Smart phones add a date and time stamp to document that.
My thinking is it would be very hard for them to argue you didn’t do it or do it correctly with receipts and pics/videos. It is a bit of a pain to do but it could be the extra step to prove you did the work.
Never had to use it on a warranty claim but I have it just in case.

After 3 weeks of waiting on HD, had my salesman talk to the owner. They had an FLHTP police model Electra Glide that I traded even for.
The FLHTP runs far better than the Road King did, even though the dealership had said in the beginning that there was nothing wrong with
the King pinging and knocking. The difference is day and night between the two motors (both M8 107 motors). sad state for service, but I
am happy with the Electra Glide. Ride On !
