Looks interesting and an inexpensive way to get a gear indicator. How was the install?

Took me around 15 minutes. Very easy. Just run the cable from the indicator back to the diagnostic socket underneath the fuses. Secure the cable with small straps and that's it. Have been driving everyday for the last week and it works perfect.

Looks to be same unit I got, just at a better price. Mine took a bit longer to run/dress as went under the tank console and inside the fairing. I had to extend the wiring a couple feet for that endevor but nothing special. 3 wires all that are used.

Thanks for the explanation... I never really thought about it before, but I was unaware of how it worked.....

Actually the installation was easy on my FLHTP. Removed the right saddlebag, removed the left side cover. Did not remove the seat.Run a thin plastic covered (to avoid scratches) steel wire underneath the fairing and tank all the way up to the front panel. Had to try a couple of times to find a way for the wire. Finally it got through and I attached the 3 wires from the indicator (red, white, black) and pulled the thin wire all the way back to the fuse area. I used double-sided tape to attach the indicator to the left side of the radio.

Of course I meant that I removed the left saddlebag.
