Whats with the 'bandit' face mask/gaitors?

Obviously lots of reasons to wear a face mask regardless of season. If you fell the need, why not have a little fun? For some, a sense of humor is not tolerated. The OP probably wouldn't approve of my Sons Of ARTHRITIS T shirt either, though I get lots of favorable comments while wearing it.
Damn, some of you guys take my jabs too personally. If you wear one for weather protection, I get it. You live in the desert and wear it for dust and sun, I get it. If you wear your scary skull clown cigar face mask for your 6 mile bar hop......yer a weenie poser. 8*P

I don't feel anyone needs to defend themselves against moronic poser accusations. Stay in your lane bro and just ride. But, I was talking to a Motor-officer a few months ago about my vision. Seems he needed to discuss his concern for my vision because I didn't see the temporary Speed Limit sign near the construction area.. Anyway, we ended up talking for about 45 minutes about motorcycles (his partner even came by to make sure he wasn't laying in a ditch or something). He has been riding for about 20 years and the biggest health issue concerning him is cancer on his face. He didn't get into details, but to say he switched to a full face helmet for that one specific reason. He was already wearing the mask.

I ride nearly every day since my bike is my means of transportation. It's summer here in the desert. Temps are in triple digits (114 degrees here today). I've got the scars on my face from where the skin cancer has gotten me. In an attempt to decrease these facial cancers, I now wear a fabric tube style bandana (https://schampa.com/collections/tubes) that covers my face during the daytime. I choose to wear a plain dark grey one. I don't need a face cover to be bad ***.
Why the hell do you care anyways, troll. Wait, don't answer... I don't care.

More because I thought about it on the way to work.
Rain hurts at 80MPH. When it's really raining, I wear a face shield. When it's just spitting on me, the face mask will do.
SA Fishing pretty much always has a buy one, get 28 free deal. No, I'm not serious but they generally have a get 5 for $15 or $20 and I have stacks of the various types laying around the house where I forgot I got one pack and picked up another. Skulls, clown face, cigar face, camo, blank, reflective, lizard skin, and a bunch more. What I'm wearing depends on which one I grab in the morning. Then I leave one in the trunk and no clue what's in the trunk right now, it might be a skull. Might be a camo one. I hope it's not a fleece one as it's over 90 every day.
The face masks don't melt into your eyes the minute you leave a gas station and have 3 hours until the next stop like sunblock tends to do.
The face masks don't tend to make you break out, again, like sunblock tends to do.
Many a reason to have a face mask.
You ride your way, he'll ride his, she'll ride hers and I'll ride mine. Just enjoy the ride and don't worry about what everyone else is doing.

I had plastic surgery on my upper eyelid a year ago as a result of cancer. When I told the doctor that I obsessively wear sunglasses, he said the upper eyelid tumors are usually the sun reflecting off the cheek up between the skin and sunglasses. He recommended I get the sport sunglasses that fit closer to the skin. Do the mask prevent reflection? Get some good glasses. Surgeons today can do amazing things today, but you only so much skin for them to work with.

Guy the future of the community as you call it has been in question a few decades now, questions or inquiries like these are more the norm than not anymore.
