just got corbin dual tour today...problem...
Today, I just got my eagerly anticipated corbin dual tour seat for my 95 ultra classic. Love how it looks and feels comfortable but a couple things that are wierd:
1. I had to take the passenger grab bars off to get it to set down properly. Is this normal? I don't think i should have to do that.
2. When I push the seat all the way up so it's nice and snug in the front clip the screw hole doesn't match up with the screw in on the back of the seat. If I nudge the seat back so I can screw it down in the back, the front pops up out of the clip.
Anybody had these issues? Know what to do? I'm going Call Corbin but hoped for some sage advice from the board.
Thanks, in advance,
Pablo

RE: just got corbin dual tour today...problem...
Hey John,
The tab is already set all the way back. It's wierd. The front of the tab that attaches to the seat has two holes for the two bolts. That's fine. But the back hole that attaches to the bike is a slotted hole. After I tighten the screw, when I sit on the seat the seat slides back and eventually out of the front clip.
Seems stupid to make that rear hole slotted.

Pablo,
The chrome tab on my seat is slottet. There is a circular area at the end of the tab slot that fits perfectly over the fender nut. I had to adjust the tab by about 1/4", but I did not adjust my front tab at all (and to my knowledge, I don't believe that I can adjust the front tab).
Is it possible that you have the wrong seat? Check the base as the part number will be embossed into the seat.
I am sure a call to Corbin will solve this. Let us know the outcome!

Guys,
Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. After a call to Corbin, which the guy was nice enough but didn't help me a whole lot, I figured it out:
The seat had two bolts in it on either side underneath which apparently bolt into two unused slots on the grab bar mounting bracket. I saw the bolts there on the seat when I first pulled the seat out and thought "That's an odd place for a bolt".
I can't use the rear tab because it's not long enough.
Sure enough, the two bolts lined up with the open slots on the grab bar mounting bracket.
Strange the "tech" at Corbin didn't know anything about it.
Seat is on...rode it today for the first time with the new seat and backrest for a few hours...very happy with it. I took my son out for a spin then a buddy and I rode for a while. I didn't fall off, the seat didn't fall off...I guess I did it right.
