Default Clutch Adjustment jamnut

Adjusted the clutch about a month and a half back. Ran good, no problems. The other day, backing it out of the garage, I heard a noise that sounded like the spring on the sidestand make a noise. Ran it for 50-60 miles, no issues. Go to leave for work yesterday, backing it out, I hear it again and realize it's something else. Pull the primary cover and the jamnut worked it's way loose and is lost to below, nowhere to be found from that view. Thoughts on how to get this out without pulling the whole primary cover?

You should remove the outer primary cover, retrieve the nut, and make sure it didn`t cause any damage.

You are lucky it didn`t decide to jump between the primary chain and a sprocket...

You can try a flexible magnetic retriever:

Then take a peek through the inspection covers. Since you have been riding it with no ill effects I doubt it has caused any harm. I would not ride it further until the nut is out of there.

You pulled the primary cover or derby cover? Maybe try to fish it out with a magnetic pickup tool?

Pulled the Derby cover at this point. Think the Primary Cover would be better option?

This ^^^^^^^^

For the cost of a gasket and fluid, I too would go this route.

I would..... as several have said, it probably didn't hurt anything else.... but I'd have to see for myself....

It only costs a quart of fluid and maybe a gasket. FWIW, I've reused the gaskets before with no leaks...

There's not much room going through the derby cover to probe with the magnetic pickup tool. And it'll probably get knocked off pulling it up if you did find it.
Pull the primary cover. If the fluid is new, reclaim it in a clean catch pan and reuse it. It's just the cost of a gasket.
