RE: To those with the 103" upgrade
Myself and my buddy did almost the same up grades
he had a 06 88 and went to 95 with CNC ported heads
10.5-1 pistons (his was carbed so he went with a 44mm mukuni)
stage 1 air cleaner kit , vance and heins long shots with cross over
and 257 cams
His runs great right at 100 HP i think dynoed at 102 & 105 tq
mine was a 96 and went to the 103
10.5-1 pistons and cnc heads with stage 1 air cleaner and then went to true duals (i think it cost me some HP) but sounds great
i have a SE race tuner and stock throttle body
with a Woods TW-400-6 cam .650 lift and 244 duration
great torque from 2000 RPMs
mine hikes out 102 HP and 109 TQ i think my duals give up some hp
i think the 255 cam would be a good all around cam but will work better in the higher rpms
a woods cam will give you more torque in the lower rpms

Did you go with the 255 cams in the stage 2 kit or pick a better designed cam? If you went with the 255 would you do it again? If you didnt go with the 255 what did you go with? I will be using the stock heads for now....Thanks for all replies.

Here's the kit link: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I may go with the gears if the need come up. When I had the 103 upgrade done, my stockcam shoes were cooked at 29k miles, now I have 60K miles and am heading out for a ride of 10K+. maybe I'll put gears in this winter during some of thatcold spell down time. If I do, put the gears in I might as well do a power band upgrade on the cams.

RE: To those with the 103" upgrade
Anyone interested in a new 103 kit for a 2007 model? Its a complete HD kit... Black Cylinders, pistons, rings, gaskets , 255 Cams etc ....it is not the kit with the flywheel. I will vouch thats its all new.
My friend bought it 2 months ago and has decided to go big this winter, like a 120 motor. I dont have the kit P/N but will get it if anyone is interested...He mentioned knocking off 25% from retail + S&H.
Let me know: info@fastaire.com

RE: To those with the 103" upgrade
I've got 350 miles on the 103/255 cam with SERT and SE 4" slipons on my 07 FLHX
I came off a 108hp/111 lb ft 95" WG , so was used to a good deal of power.
While the 103/255 setup doesn't slam you back , it has very smooth power delivery and is a deceptively quick setup. Above 3000 it becomes entertaining. As I want to keep it under warranty , I'm happy with the build. I may go with headwork after warranty, and possibly switch cams .
So far I'd say it is a completly adequate amount of power, and not significantly different than the 110" CVO Road King I road in power delivery.
