what the heck is this thing. Bought the bike used. Was given some weird keys and just learned that they fit this thing. I assume it is some kind of wheel lock. If so I can't figure out how to get it to engage and now I've been messing with it so I don't want an issue on my ride to the keys in 2 days

Default What the heck

Appears to be a Jay Brake aftermarket caliper hold down. Possibly former owner had after market Jay brake calipers mounted. Check Jay brake web site, I would suggest.

You'd think the big bar and shield on the caliper would give away the fact that it's a stock caliper??? I know I know I missed my true calling as a detective. Sure looks like a disc lock though

Turn the key and pull the black ****, it's a plug to keep dirt out and the locking part with the pin would be inserted in the hole.
Unless you have the spring loaded pin part you don't have the whole thing.

You are exactly right. It appears the actual lock piece is nowhere to be found.
