Default Bad gas mileage???

I am consistently getting about 30 - 33 mpg on my 2007 Ultra. I have the SE Air Cleaner, Rinehart slip-ons, and the PC III with the appropriate map from Jaime. I have about 4000 miles on it and the most I have ever gotten out of a tank is 170 miles (all highway). Usually I am putting 4 1/2 to 5 gallons at 140 - 150 miles on the trip meter. I ride to work every day 17 miles each way and put a couple hundred miles on the weekends with my girl on back. I am getting ready for the long trek to SD in a few weeks and I want to do something to better my mileage if possible.

Thanks!!

That's very abnormal for you to get this kind of mileage. You said you used a PCIII map from a person, but did you ever get your bike dyno'd to get the actual print out of the numbers? I'm curious to know what fuel/air mixture ratio your bike is set at. I would say that this is your main culprit, and you should go ahead and get your bike dyno'd and get some true numbers.

I did not get the bike dyno's yet, Jaime at Fuel Moto set up the map, I double checked it with the map from the PC website and it is the same. I am planning on getting it dyno'd soon. I just seems like it should be better with the simple changes I've made.

It makes a big difference the way you ride too. If you really like to twist on the throttle to hear them pipes your mileage will go down. If I am riding mine hard I will only get 30-33 but If I ride pretty easy I have gotten as high as 40.

I just finished a road trip, all highway and the gas light came on at 170. Fillup only required 4 gallons. Maybe check tire pressure and see if its low.

Jeffer,

Your bike needs to be broken in a little more before your mileage improves. Right now, your engine, trans, and primary are running in fluids that will need to be changed at the 1k service. Once your drive train gets new, fresh, fluids, your mileage should improve. Then, if you go to Synthetic oil (after 5k), your mileage will improve further.

I've got 2K on mine now, still getting between 32 and 37, depending on how I ride it. Mostly my own fault for twisting the throttle too hard and not getting the T-Max dialed in for better economy yet.
