Gotta love the big touring bikes for 2 up riding.

sounds like a good ride out that way. I'm 5'8" an ride my glide everywhere I can. I have air ride an a low seat to help me handle the size. If there was a switchback in the dealership when I bought it I would have considered it, then add a radio. If you make the tour pack detachable it knocked a little bulk off for everyday use.

I went from a FLD to a FLHTK and I can relate to everything you said. The only mistake I made was not going to a LOW. Now I am throwing money at the bike in an effort to get both heals down and have better control in town, but on the highway the FLD is no match for the comfort .

No question, the big Ultra is more comfy on the highway. Having said that, dialing the bars and seat, along with upgraded suspension did wonders for the FLD.

If and when you want to seriously consider the touring frame, give the RK a test. Even thought the weight isn't that much different, the RK feels like a sport car compared to my Ultra Limited. You can still add lower fairings and a tourpack if those appeal to your needs.

I second the road king. I have both (a glide and a King) and although the curb weight is close on both bikes the RK just feels/handles lighter. The extra weight of the touring bike is a plus on the slab where it doesn't beat you up as much as a lighter bike.
