Are you leaving a week early, or am I leaving a week late?

 

One day and a wake up for me!

 

We are going a week early returning on the 3rd... might beat some of the rush... :-)

 

 

Was at the rally last year during the middle of the week. Are the weekends as busy or is it about the same? Thinking I may end up out there for the weekend this year.

 

Gone and Done it.... Left 7/27 and returned 2 days early due to rain forecast , 1200 miles each way, 3000 miles total.... 35 smiles per gallon with my son

I rode the Street Glide 1 mile each way on a gravel road to see this less than stunning waterfall, but hey, you only live once and you learn :-)

My son rode his 2014 Ducati Hypermotard, but hey, he's 21 yo.... ;pick in Spearfish Canyon.
rode 750 miles on the last day,,, anxious to get home...

Ill bet the Ducati would have done great on the dirt roads I accidentally got stuck on for 30+ miles last year in the black hills.

 

I made sure I picked the three days that it’s going to rain, should be in Rapid City on Tuesday, leaving Friday.

 

I arrived at the buffalo chip yesterday, rode through 2 hrs of rain from souix city Iowa to Mitchell South Dakota. spent today in Sturgis and riding to deadwood, lead and on through spearfish. I will be here until Friday morning. This is a beautiful country we live in,get out and ride...glad to hear you had a good trip circa 58,time spent with your son...priceless

 

What were I-29 and I-90 like? Any road construction or major slowdowns? Thinking of going up for the final weekend. Thanks, HMT
