color of bike
ok guys, i bought a new 07 roadking in the white/gold-pearl and indigo blue about a month ago. i was looking at it the past few days and to me the fenders and side panels look pearl white but the tank does not . is it just me or is this the way the moco painted the bike? i even asked my better half what she thought and she said the same thing. i know alot of you will say i should of bought "black" and then i wouldn't be concerned. but let me tell you, i had a black bike before and it was a pain to keep clean, this one is not.

The correct color spec is white gold pearl and cobalt blue. The dominant color is white which is why white is mentioned first. The first color mentioned is the dominant color or the most of the color covering the bike. All two tone bikes are pearl except if the secondary color is vivid black.Thre was no such color as Indigo in 07. Boh colors are pearl. It is just hard to see since the RK only has a small area of blue on the lower half of the tank.

They're there,
I have a White Gold Pearl Ultra, sometimes the tank looks all white then sometimes it had a gold cast to it.Depends upon the light and the beer.

yeah, you are right about the blue, cobalt, not indigo. my bad. i still think my tank is just plain white, i can not see any gold flakes in it at all.

and his color should be white gold pearl and deep cobalt pearl... but unless i'm missing something, there isn't a white anything in the road king line for 07, all white is pearl so unless the factory really messed up you should have white pearl.

The ONLY color Harley considers to be a solid color isVivid Black which is the cheapest price shown, from there they call everything pearl which they charge a little more for and then they have the two-tones which is even a little more money. Any two-tone that you buy which doesn't havevivid black as the second color will mean that BOTH colors are so called pearl.

I think what you are seeing is a characteristic of pearl paints known as "flop" (at least that's what I have always heard it described as). It has to do with the way the light hits the surface of the paint. You are most likely looking at your tank from a top view, yet you look at your fenders/side covers from the side. The light is not hitting the paint the same way so the pearl doesn't reflect the light the same way.
It is also VERY possible that your parts were not painted at the same time with the same batch of paint by the same painter (whether machine or person). Pearl paint is very difficult to get uniform results out of due to variations in air pressure, distance from the paint gun to the work, etc. Personally, I think HD does a beautiful job with their paint, but pearls (especially white) are very difficult to get consistent results with.
