Default Heated Grip Question

Buddy called asking if the stock heated grips on his limited had a connector on the grip end that he can disconnect at the grip and change grips. He is wanted to retain his wiring to the grip and change his grips. Reason for this is he wants the heated grip on while taking trips but then wants to pull them off and put another set of grips on while riding close to the house.

Nope, at least on my 14. The left grip has the wire built in, no plug @ grip. Right side does have the plug.

The throttle side would be an easy swap since it has a plug on the end that plugs into the throttle control. However, the clutch side harness goes all the way to the plugs in the dash area. Now depending on how inclined your friend is to do a little mod work, he could pull feed some of the harness back into the bar towards the grip, allowing him to pull it off the bar. Then he could cut the harness there and add some pins and connector housings that would allow him to disconnect it there.
