Default 41" wide bars - too wide?

Got some 16" tall 1.50" diameter Carlini Gangster apes for the Road King. I'm debating about putting them on because the width is 41" wide and just seems too wide. Does anyone have bars that are around 41" wide and what do you think about the width?

Have WO518 CHUBBY® RK II BARs on my 2013 RK Police and at 35 1/2 inches it's WIDE but comfortable for me. Realize these are low bars not apes but can't imagine going another 6 inches. My .02 YMMV

I just finished putting 10 in LA Chopper bars on my street glide tip to tip they care 35 1/2 I'm 5'9 . they seem to be comfortable, I only got about 10 Miles on them because it started to rain. they are pretty wide compared to the stock bars. 41 is wide but if you are tall with a long reach they might be perfect.

Beach bar width, uncomfortable mothers to ride any distance with, when ever we got a bike in the shop with those I refused to test ride it. I'd swap with the tech who didn't like apes.

I had 35" wide reapers on last bike and have 37" F47 on this bike. The 37 are comfortable but I wouldn't go any wider. Another 4" wouldn't work for me at all. I'm 6' with long arms.

I currently have 13.5" high bars that are 37" wide bars, measure out to 39" with the grips; they are too wide for me (and not high enough) on long trips as the width keeps my shoulder muscles pushed together. Just ordered higher 16" bars that are 33" wide. I'm 5'9" but with a long torso (short legs), and long arms.

I’ve got the same setup on my King. Takes some getting used to because of the width AND the height. Mine are 16”. I’ve only got about 100 miles in them so far. I like the Carlinis. I no longer have soreness between the shoulders like I have on my Roadglide with the Khromewerks 2+2s. We’ll see how I feel after a long ride.

I had 36inch bars and those 3 extra inch width over stock felt like a foot wider. It wasn’t my cup-o-tea.

Not proportional. Way to wide. I don't know why manufactures continue to make bars that wide.
