Default 07 road king 14 and up hard bag issue

I have an 07 Road King classic come standard with the leather bags. I finally broke down and bought a set of color match 2014-up 4 inch stretched hard bags from eBay. I知 wondering if anybody knows if the lower support rails are different for the leather bags I知 having a problem getting the bag to line up and sit in place properly. It doesn稚 help the fact that I have Neighbor haters getting in the way.The factory support rail is about a half inch shy of hitting the cut out in the bottom of the bag. The only way I can get it to line up is to take the rubber mounts off. I知 wondering if a different year support rail will help me any at all. I have a crash bars on which I plan to keep and also have the nostalgic look bag rails that I think I can make work also.I have had no issues with the mounting pins I was able to adjust those. If anybody has had this problem or has any idea when I can to to mount this properly I would appreciate the help. Thanks

In 2014 I bough a Rushmore Street Glide Standard with the newer style Saddlebags, and it comes with only a lower support rail.

This may not fit as they have different part numbers, you may want to try part #90200981, it's the lower support rail for the 2014 or
newer Rushmore models. I am not sure this will work, it's a $99.95 part, cheaper at a 20% off dealer like Surdyke and others out there.
Call to see if these 2 supports will work on your Classic, I am non sure if they are interchangeable with your Bike.

You may want to call to see if part #90200549 left side saddlebag support and part #90200550 right side saddlebag support to see if
will work on your 2007 Classic saddlebag guards, as they are off a 2015 FLHRC --- Road King Classic. That is all I can come up with.
I hope this helps you.

John

Loosen the two top brackets. Then put the bag on the rail and adjust the top mounts to fit. I have 14's on my 02 and that is all I had to do. I did buy a set of the screw on holders off ebay. They are so much better than the stock clips.

This worked? I have been wanting to get 14 up bags on on my 04 Road King Classic. I didn't think it was possible.

Yes I have the original leather bags and the 2014 hard bags. I switch them up all the time.

This is exactly what I did when putting hard bags on my 2006 FLHRCI. They fit perfectly with no other modifications needed. I even reused the stock clips but agree aftermarket screw style fastener are much nicer.
