Got 205 Out of a Tank - No Fuel Light

It all depends on your milage. You got 44.5 mpg which is about right if your bike is mostly stock. The light probably would have come on at 5 gallons. So about another 17 miles. Now you know that when the light comes on you can go MAYBE 40 miles but it’s best to fill up right away. At 5.7 - 5.9 it will start sputtering and then you have feet left. I’ve found that the speed I ride and highway or city riding will affect mileage quite a bit.

I had the motor shut off as I pulled into the gas station on my Street Bob years ago, pulled the clutch in and coasted to the pump. Put 4.74 gallons in a 4.7 gallon tank...the fuel light had been on for 60 miles.
On the Street Glide, I start thinking about finding fuel when it gets to 200 miles, sometimes the low fuel light is on, sometimes it isn't. I have gone 245 miles between fill ups, but 235 usually has me with about 1/2 a gallon still in the tank.
It really all depends on what kind of riding. Stop and go traffic 15 miles each way to work (boring) or riding hard through the twisties (fun) I still get between 45-48 mpg.

Amazing... I'm thrilled to get 200. 175 miles and I usually get around 5.2 gallons in there. In my defense I have calibrated my speedo so my mileage is accurate. Before I calibrated it I was averaging about 20 more miles a tank,
Stock speedo's are usually really going about 75mph when speedo reads 82mph. Which means that when I travel 75 miles my odometer will pile on 82 miles making it look like I was getting more miles per tanks than I really did.
So when you think you got 246 out of a tank you are really only getting 225. If you used 5.5 gallons the MPG's would really be 40.9 not 44.7.
Long story short fix your speedo's and watch your MPG's drop down by about 4 to what you are truly achieving. You'll still be doing better than my 34 mpg's but you won't be keeping up with me either.

Any dyno tuning device can correct spedo error. The FP3 is really easy, connect, drive, hit the "calibrate" button, then flash that new cal in. It uses your GPS in your phone once you hit 60MPH for a few seconds.
I've noticed that a tail wind and no-ethanol fuel will extend my tank.... (DOH!) In Arkansas, top speed on some of those roads is low, and good premium 100% gas and I get nearly 50MPG.
