Default 2012 SG rear fender on a 2015 RK?

will a rear fender off of a 2012 SG fit on a 2015 RK or are the wire harnesses different?

Which years should I be looking for?

Thanks,
Tony

You should look for a Rushmore rear fender, a 14 up. Besides frame changes, they run CanBus through the wiring. so the connectors will be different. I got the rear off of a 2014 Streetglide special and the seller kept the harness so I had to order one. When I did, the parts guy ordered the international wire harness (goes from under the seat to the rear lights) and had to re-order. You would also need the harness rubber holder that sticks to your inside of the fender to keep the harness away from the tire. You either have to take the connectors off and slide the wires through or do what I did. I cut the length of the tubing through the adhesive and then just wrapped it around the harness, cleaned the area of the inner fender, peeled the strip off and stuck it to the fender. That way the harness won't come out.

Also, at the same time, I used an Arlen Ness facia that looks better with the stretched bags.

One last question...
i found a rear fender. It has the brake lights, tri bar light and the wiring that connects the two but it doesn’t have the wiring to connect to the main harness.

Any idea what I’ll need for a part number for that? The schematics I found are confusing at best.

If the fender is from a 14 or 15, you would stop by a dealer and ask them for the part number. It was reasonable enough I just had them order it, but it has been a few years back.I don't have the number. I looked at Ronnies on line parts, and you used to be able to look it up for free, but now they want you to sign up with a name and password.
