Default Any easy way to mount and dismount with a rider backrest

At 68 years old I am not as flexible as I once was. Considering a backrest and thinking it may be difficult to get on and off the bike if I have to become a contortionist. Any easy method you old guys use?

Mine folds, so I fold it down to mount and dismount.

Yep it folds down... I changed seats and have one available from my 09 king.

when i use my tour pack in the solo position i mount my bike from the right. put left hand on tour pack, right hand on throttle grip, right foot on floorboard and just step up and through with the left foot. super easy.

Step on the floorboard, hang onto the grips and step through.

I have been messing with this also. I tried to step on the passenger floorboard on the left side and get on but it seems excessive. I think from the right may be easier and from the left I focus on getting my knee up and over and then your leg will follow. Sounds funny but try focusing on the knee over your seat.

This helps me with occasional leg cramps.

Learn to mount and dismount from right side. Tourpak or backrest, it's much easier. I mount and dismount with handlebars/front wheel in full left lock position with both hands on handgrips right foot on right floorboard step right up and over. Easy peasy. Easier on the knees by far.

Mount it like Roy Rogers did with trigger.
