MORE PCIII questions
Well its installed. Not to bad really. Download was simple, directions need some work but I got it thanks to THIS forum...THANKS BRYAN 1724 and everyone else who contributed
The throttle positioning was a little tricky but I think we got it, I had to many Beers last night to take it out for a spin, ill do that tonight and let you know how it rides tomorrow.
My question. I let it warm up before setting the throttle positions and have a DYNO scheduled for Thursday. The DYNO is $200..is it worth it? will I get much gain from it? I used the best map I could find so do I really need it?
Next..
My engine light stayed on for a while while it was running in the garage. Then it went out....then came back on again...and went out again. is this normal? AND Should I wait to start it or just hit it right away when I turn on the ignition?
Thanks to all of you guys, I really appreciate it.

RE: MORE PCIII questions
I had the engine light thing happen to me also after install. I didnt have the connectors from ECM to PCIII seated good enough. Use a little deilectic grease on the pins, push that connector in good and tight and throw a wire tie around it to make sure it stays put.
You dont have to wait for the light to go out before you start it. I usally wait just a second and then hit the starter. It fires right up.
I have split feelings about the Dyno. I had it done after PCIII was installed, but I dont feel like I really gained anything from what Jammie at Fuel Motto already had in it. But it was nice to know it was done and to see the numbers.

RE: MORE PCIII questions
Smurf,
Congrats on the install. Did mine about 3 days ago and so far so good on my end.
As for the check engine light, I haven't had that issue. Did you go back and recheck all the connections? I also made sure to use a liberal amount of dielectric grease on all the connections. FWIW.
I'm doing the hit the start button technique right away. Seems okay so far and she starts right up. No issues and no status codes as of yet.
BTW, which map did you end up going with?

Ted, The Dyno is in the Minneapolis area hence the cost...seems outrageous to me also..
FLHT, Ill check the connections tonight, didnt use any dialectric grease, ill slather some on and let ya know whats up.
Lee, I went with the 807-220 I think you recommended it? Didnt you? real happy so far with the sound and it started just as easy as stock. Initiall backfired a couple times but after we did the tune and the throttle positions it was good.
anubisss, We set the the positions off the first time, then started it let it run and did it again after looking at the CD tutorial so it was warm but not hot.
It sounded like i had an exhaust leak at the rear head pipe. checked the lower nut and it was loose.hasanyone retorqued all of the pipes down again and has anyone had much loosen after a bit of riding?

RE: MORE PCIII questions
I installed mine about 5,000 miles ago. I turn on ignition switch, turn on run switch and hit the start button. Have not had a problem. My map was pre loaded by Jamie at Fuel Moto. I set throttle and went for a ride. I have made a few adjustments to Jamie`s map to gain some mpg while in the cruse range. I increased some numbers at 0% throttle to get rid of some popping I had on decel. Other than that the bike runs like a raped ape! I do not feel I personally would get enough gain in power to justify a Dyno tuning. I am not sure for myself I would want much more power. Right now the bike runs great and I am averaging 46-50 mpg. I am well satisfied with it the way it is. You might want to ride it a month or so and then decide on dyno tuning or not.
I have not had anything like you described with the engine light, sorry.
Ride Safe,
Mike

Did you guys set the throttle position withthe bike warmed up and on or warmed up and off? I did not warm my bike when setting this, maybe I should reset it?
