Default Building a riders backrest for my CVO Low Profile Seat

Hoping this works out, I bought a pad on Amazon, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Getting close to being ready to mount up the pad. I May have to make the pad mount a little higher, but I was just getting antsy and bent that piece tonight.

I used all scrap metal I had in the garage, so my only real cost is the weld wire, gas, come cut off discs, and my time.

Anyway, here is my progress so far:

I saw your construction of the backrest and thought I had seen this before and I had CVO Backrest. I think yours is more rigid and robust than theirs and probably a lot cheaper too.

Not much more I can do until the pad arrives. Looks like either tomorrow or Friday. I guess I didn’t look at the Amazon listing, it was not Prime eleigible, so no 2 day shipping.

All I did today was put the painted bolt in and trim the rear part of the mount. Also got the metal somewhat prepped for paint. I will need to weld on it some more to have pieces in place for attaching the pad.

Here is today’s progress pic.

Got the pad today, and got everything buttoned up. So far I’m apply with it, but it has a bit more flex to it than I was expecting. It’s pouring down rain here today, so I didnt get a chance to ride it yet.
