Boom audio stage 2 upgrade
#11
I also want an upgrade to my 2014 FLHXS SGS - only the two fairing speakers with an amp. Perhaps MMSATS PA601CX, since they are spoken of highly. Along with an amp. Unfortunately, I will need someone to do the install - is HD a bad idea? I don’t have a local A/V place for install... Thoughts?

http://www.biketronics.com/...talk to these people. Had 4 bikes with various levels of sound systems. Some with their speakers and some with other speakers. All depends on what you listen to and your budget.
I redid everything Alpine 7" display with Navigation, 4 hertz sv 6.5, and 2 herts mp25 tweeters with a biketronic 4180 amp. This is the best sounding system that I have ever owned. There was a small compromise with the useless oil "ok" button, but for what I gained it was worth it.

I'm very pleased with my BOOM! setup, BUT - I added the BOOM! upon delivery so it's covered under my ESP.
Regardless of whose system you go with, I'd stick with a good vendor like Biketronics for everything. Too many times, I see folks mixing and matching with inadequate understanding of what they're doing and they end up blowing stuff left and right, always looking for the "right" mix of parts.
