Please help with Tour Pack ??????
I am thinking about adding a Tour Pack to my 06 RoadGlide. I was looking throught the Harley catalog and there are a bunch of different part #'s. They list them for the SG, Ultra's and the Roadglides all with different numbers. Is that because of all the different color combos or do they mount different.
If I was to find a used one and get it painted to match do I have to pay attention to what it came off off or are they pretty much universal ?
Thanks for help advance I appreciate it.

just put the finishing touches on a King tour pak on my 01 RK today. easiest way is to get the quick detach mount 53276-04 @ 169.95 and the docking station kit 53804-06 @ 54.95. very quick install and then you can take the pak off when you like to streamline.

King Tour Paks are dimensionally the same size regardless of Touring model; you are correct that the different listings in the catalog refer to paint and pinstriping.
New TP's are made of ABS plastic; older ones are fiberglass--don't know the year HD switched materials but it was about 2004-05.
Unless you are very lucky, you will probably be happier buying a tour pak to match your bike from a 20% off HD dealer (Zanotti's, Chicago HD, etc.). The HD paint (w/activator) costs about $100 per quart, so you probably have to add that plus the cost of the painter to any used TP purchased on ebay.

Yes the TPs are fairly universal. However when they went to the GTX nylon in '06 they also added a 2 position mounting. This can let you move it back about 1" further than earlier paks. As for the different models, the StreetGlide model (cheapest) is one solid color with chrome trim instead of side marker lights. The "classic" has side markers & a panel of the accent (2nd) color on the top with a pinstripe around the panel. The Ultra is the same as the classic with the addition of wrap around tail lights. You will also need a mount as stated earlier. Detachable will add about $2-300 for mount, docking kits & antenna relocation kit. If you want permenant mount you can usualy pick one up (the bracket) on Ebay for about $40. You also will want a passanger back rest for it. Also the lock is not included & it runs $28 at a local dealer for keyed to match lock, lock pawl & mounting nut. All totaled I spent about $800 to do mine through MandMcycles.com. Did not know about Zannottis at the time they might be a little cheaper.

Rininhoj, Do you happen to know the part numbers for the set up you used. I take it you went with the nondetachable setup for that price.
I like the look of your bike as well. Thanks
