Default Zumo Wrestling

A round on the house. I need some advise here. I will be finally purchasing a Garmin Zumo GPS. I just can't justify the extra $170 for bluetooth that I prob won't even use. Is the text to speech option really needed? and is there any other differences that should be pointed out here?

$500 for the 450 Model or $670 for the 550?

Let the battle begin. . .

honestly blue tooth worked good and was just a toy. really would have been fine with the 450 as long as it has the other goodies. (things will probably never really use,bt,mp3,extra storage cards, voice prompts get anoying and get good at looking ahead..ect), some of these thow I am more likely to use in car.

I use wired earclip headphones to listen to voice prompts and mp3s ($25). I don't connect to my cell, I found it irritating.

STOP all this Zumo posting immediately! It's going to cost me; $670 + the cost of the GXM 30 XM antenna. [sm=boohoo.gif]

I've got the 550. I don't use the bluetooth, except to see who is calling me, but I definitely use the mp3 and the voice directions. I don't have to look at the unit to get the directions as they come through the speakers on the bike. It's a great addition. You will love it....

plus the 550 gives you the car holder and power adapter. those are over $100. so for the maybe one time you take it in the car it will cover the extra price.

Al,
I have the Zumo 450, and it works great but as stated above it only comes with a motorcycle mount (ram mount) and a hard wire power cord. I used a Radio Shack cigarette lighter plug on the power cord so I would be able to use it in my truck and my motorcycle, but had to buy the automotive mount (around $100.00) to use it anywhere other than my FLHT/I. I bought mine from GPS City www.gpscity.com

I just got my 2610 a couple weeks ago. It came from pcRush.com and I paid $254 shipped. This is a new, not refurbished, GPS.The difference between this and the refurbished ones is I get V 7.0 City Navigator and refurb. ones come with V 8.0. I'd rather have the new GPS.

Then I bought a 2 GB compact flash card. The whole US map is only about 144 MB so now it holds the entire thing.

It is a nice GPS for the money and works great. They have touch screen and are water proof. It even has a remote control for when in the truck. I don't need MP3, Bluetooth or XM. I just want to know where I am going and it gets the job done for about $300 to the door.
