RG WO 515 bar owner happy ending
Howdy folks, it's done, another EG conversion to RG. I just added Wild One 515's, Stainless cables, internal wiring, and for the first time Ifeel like I'm on an adult bike, I'm 6'1". I tried EG bars, RG 03 bars, RKC bars, nope, 10" mini apes for me. Mustang seat added to replace stock saddle sore maker.
I alsoinstalled HD foglights, Kury small Silver Bullets, Clearview 13 inch custom recurve with vent, Kury adjustable passenger pegs, tourpack relocator kit, and armrests.
We are ready to ride. Good thing it's only 116.
UPDATE:::
I took her out for a mayden voyage this afternoon, 120 on the temperomemeter.. Love the Mustang seat, it does put me further back by about an inch and raises me an inch, but I can still get both feet flat on the ground. I love the Clearview with vent, buffetting gone, just enough airflow with vent to keep cool, I mean not as hot...
Now the problem...
Since I swapped the seat out at the same time I did the bar, I think I screwed up. I measuredthe WO515 for use with the old seat...The seat puts me back just enough that the 515's may not come back enough. I have noticed the wider bars (WO515 10 inch mini apes) do feel a little twitchy, tend to get hit more with airstream which is fine as long as it is steady airflow, but any buffetting from cars etc, some more twitchyness is noticed. I'm wondering if 517's wouldn't be better? A narrower bar?? I'm feeling kinda stupid, I just spent 3 days splicing the bigger bars on... Will I get used to the new feel? I have a bad feeling the bars are to wide. Thoughts?? Help mister wizard!!
Final UPDATE-solved
I rotated the bar back just a touch, that helped immensly, plus a few miles on her allowed me to get used to the required "big man" reach. Still felt a little slop when I turned the bars, when stopped at a light I could look at the bar and fork andturn the bar side to side and SEE that the fork was not quite following the bar movement, SLOP!! I then swapped out the stock rubber bushings holding the bars with Drag Specialties poly bushings. WOW, old bushings where shot at 13,000 miles, new bushings tightened the bar and still allowed some vibration damping. Also, bolts holding bottom half of bar clamp to fork where not tight, I mean they did not turn easily, but not any where near 35ft lbs. Feels great now.

RE: It's Done! 2000 EG/RG conversion with happy ending
I swapped the EG to RG cause I always liked the look. When I bought the EG in Europe they did not have RG as an option, they wouldn't impor it because they did not want to compete head to head against BMW bikes. I elected to swap because 1) HD did not have a color like the Aztec Orange which I'm partial too 2) I could do it myself for about $1,500 vice dropping 5 thou on swapping old for new 3) I saw others do it, so I must be able to, and could!! Once swapped, I love the way it handles, except for the bar problem I'm now having...
Anybody with bar ideas?? I'm out...

Ride it for a bit. The higher bars take a bit of time to get use to. Maybe try angling them back a bit more? I don't have the same bike, but when I added my apes, it took me a good week to get really comfortable. I love them. And BTW, you did a great job on your bike.
