My wife got me the yellow sears jack for my birthday. I love it. If she had not opted for the yellow, I would have just got the red one. But, I have a rk custom, with the lower shocks, so having the yellow is nice, as it is lower than the red. (and about half the weight). Buy the best lift that you can afford. BTW, I am still thinking the cheapo bike lift that the instructions for are posted above, would be nice to make (as a second option). IMHO

Thanks for all the input guys. I found out the red lift at sears is on sale until today. I think I will pick one of those up and give it a try. If it does not meet my needs, I will go back and trade for the yellow.
Ride Safe.

Anybody have a suggestion for doing oil/tranny changes on a lift without getting s**t everywhere?
I put a small bucket on the floor in front of the jack. I have a funnel with a long flexable drain spout. I unscrew the drain plug and hold the funnel under it and it drains into the bucket. No mess at all.

Handy Industries Air Lift. Allows me to sit in an office chair and do fluids, brakes, etc. Less money than back surgery

Hummm $69.00 for the craftsman red lift on $800.00 for this. Craftsman works just fine for me. The idea of doing your own maintanence is to make sure its done right and save money. I would have to do alot of oil changes to pay for that lift.

I have the J&S and love it. I put my Glide up on it and can swing it all over the garage by the engine guards. I saw them at a show in Chicago climbing all over a bike that was in the air. It is pricey but works just as advertised.

I love my http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=2792from Harbor freight. I got it for $49.00 on sale.

Also check http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...&pricetype there are a couple of bike lifts that are around $350. I would get a whole bike lift next time.
