Battery Tender Flashing Green

Battery Tender Flashing Green
I have the HD 750mA tender. Just purchased a brand new battery because my 5 year old battery wasn't cutting it anymore.
I noticed that my battery tender continued to flash green even when not connected to anything.
What prompted the battery change was I thought I had a bad cell because the old battery had been hooked up since October and had not stopped flashing.
I know the flashing green means 80% charged but does it mean it's broken and needs to be replaced that it's flashing green when not connected to anything?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

It needs to read a voltage so it knows what to do. Been three months since I have been home but I thought unhooked, it went to flashing yellow.
Know if you put a meter on it, it will show nothing.
The solid state control is very sensitive to prevent overcharge.
Leave it on your new battery overnight. Bet all is good in morning.
However if old battery had a dead short, it could have damaged it I guess.

When the HD charger is plugged into an AC outlet but not plugged into the battery for charging, or simply not connected to anything, the light on the charger should flash amber not green. There is nothing in the manual to explain the green flashing when not connected to anything. Sorry I have to ask, are you sure it's green flashing?

Keep you cool rgrecco... Not sure if you jumped back since I am a little slow on my smartphone and out of the country.
I think it usually does switch the color on that little led. I know quite often on the Harley.com web site, when you search parts, usually under most stuff like that, they give you a spec and also a PDF option to click on to read instruction manual. I got mine same way you got yours. I have another I purchased but it is a Bell. It has three separate lights. My Harley only has one but it will read yellow, green and red.
