reading an article in the born to ride magazine and came across this article.
these tires use an "activated silica compound" that is said to give %30 more wet grip and mileage.
they use a combination of nylon and rayon in their casings that give them good stability.
it also says he was doing 90mph when he spotted the rain grooves in the road ahead waiting for that uncomfortable feeling of taking the handlebars from his control. it never happened. he has over 5000 miles on this set and not even showing a bit of wear.

I have never used a continental motorcycle tire, so I don'thave anything to say about them, but I do run Metzlers, and I love them. Stabil in the rain grooves and grating on the bridges, great in the rain.

 

Have conti tires on my 124" RK and it is a great tire,gives me a lot of confidence.to go fast

 

this gives me something to think about when i need one. got 5900 miles on them tires. how much more do you think i will get out of them?

 

I just put the Milestones on my bike and so far I like them a lot. They ride good and handle good.

 

Oh...and they are cheaper than Dunlaps.

 

Be very careful of the load ratings. 73 is the highest one in the Milestone series for the 130/90-16. That would beborderline for a loaded down, riding 2 up bagger. [&:]The 140/90-16 drops down to a 71 load rating. [:@]

 

I had em on my bagger, got worse mileage than with the Metzlers. I thought the ride was less comfortable than with the Metzlers too. Better thatn the Dunlops but not as good as the Metz to me. of Course your actual mileage and results may vary. I ride two up most of the time and do serious touring.

I have the Milestones on mine now. I put them on there because I needed some tires in a hurry before I went on a trip up north and the Metzler's were on back order for a couple weeks. I actually like those Milestones. They do great in the rain and wet roads.We were running along at 70-72 mph in the pouring rain and they felt like riding on dry roads. Even one of the guy's I was riding with made a comment of how good they were throwing water. They handled great in the corners and curves also.I dragged the metal floorbooard mounts a couple times and they sticked like glue. I would definatley put another set on. I put the solid blackwalls on and they look pretty good.

 

I use theConti Blitz on my 00 RK. Been using them for the last six years and I love 'em.
