Does anyone have this Eglidegoodies gas cap cover? I'm curious to know if its a good attachment to the capand how easy it is to unscrew with your gloves on.

ONE OF MY FIRST MODS WAS TO PUT THE "NO KEY NEEDED" COVER LOCK. NO FUMBLEING FOR KEYS,CAN STILL LOCK IF YOU MUST?,15 BUCKS,5 MIN INSTALL. LOOKS LIKE GLOVES COULD BE AN ISSUE WITHEITHER SET UPS NATURALLY BUT LESS WITH THE ALTERNATIVE ANYWAY.

Just buy the HD replacement lock assy that you don't have to lock just push the button, about $20.00 p/n 53842-00b

 

i actually forgot my key one time... 60 miles from home and no gas.... almost any barrel key opens it... got lucky and some one had one...

 

Or this one, if you want a smooth chrome button instead of a lock button: 53919-04

I have it and I like it. But you can't lock it.

 

on a tubular key lock gas cap you can use a blank, uncut key, or any tubular key to unlock the gas cap. You can use your buddies, or an enemies key to unlock the gas cap, cause it has no tumblers in it.
I carry a blank, uncut key on my bike so I can unlock the cap if I lose my key. I can then ride home and make myself a new key if I need to. One of the benefits of being a locksmith

 

I also have the H-D push button no-key-required type. Love it.

 

I had that one on my 06 and it would vibrate. Every adjustment I tryed still vibrate so I got the one from HD that you just push the buttom.

 

Save your money. Take the lock assembly out, rotate it 180 degrees and re-install. Now you don't need a key, but it still looks like you do[sm=goodidea.gif]
