I bought this 2002 RK Classic new for my birthday in January 2002. When is first pulled the tank off, the manufactured date was date of my birth in January 2002. She has been a keeper. I enjoy all the pics of the Road Kings, especially all those before 2007. I recently put saddlebags off a 2018 Street Glide on my bike. And I changed my exhaust from a Fab28 2-1 to a Fuel Moto Jackpot Road & Track 2-1 with silver ceramic coated head pipes by Jet Hot.

Two more beautiful examples of the RK nice job guys. Another great thing about the RK is its lineage all the way back to the original FL in 1941. What other model HD has its history? Uhm none!

Hey Black Bastard you mentioned the first time you removed your gas tank it had your birth date under it. When I pulled my tank off for the first time on my 04 Classic that I picked up in 2015 it had this under the tank (empty mud bees nest). It had been sitting in the guys barn who was a US Special Forces member and wasn't home much. His wife bought him the bike brand new back in the day. He still managed to rack up 37,000 miles on it before he sold it.

The RK has always been my fav Big Twin. If I didn't need/love the trunk and fairing for touring I'd have one now. Beautiful

Well, the mud bees enjoyed the bike for awhile - lol. I saw on another thread you were considering a 2020 RKS, did you get one?

No sir I never did I honestly didn't care for the ride of the RKS. Don't get me wrong the M8 is a stout power plant but the feel on the bike bugged me. I've put so much work and care in my 04 I don't want to part with it. I just recently up graded my bike with the Fueling cam chest conversion kit with their 525 cams! I love it even more now! I would like to have someone reshoot the black paint one day down the road. I also did the 21" fat spoke front wheel with matching 16" rear so I poured even more money into her. I know this bike is a keeper.

I don't have much to say that hasn't already been said about the mighty Road King...

But I will say this, there will never be a fairing on the front of this King! Currently rockin' a 17.5" Clearview Recurve, but I'm considering going a 16.5" smoked shield next.

I agree why put a fairing on a King. You miles well buy a SG or RG if you want that.

naw. So you can put crazy miles on and return it to RK status when you get home. SG or RG can never be a RK
