There are also aftermarket shocks which will lower you while also improving ride quality over stock shocks. If there is a Mrs S who likes to ride too you need to take into account her comfort as well - short shocks are not kind to passengers!
Good points I guess I have more work to do. With out sitting on the standard the internet says that it's 27.3 inches high. The low is 25.6 so that's 1.7 inches higher.. My street bob is 25.5. I have boots with an inch and a half heal. For the most part I can touch the ground flat footed unless the pavement is imperfect then I have to use my toes. I guess I could use a boot with 3 inch heals but, I don't know where I would get them. A modified seat how much would that actually give me? Half inch to three quarters? Lowering shocks.. where would that put the suspension and ride? Like the Low?

Best way to see how they fit is to sit on one and try it out. The low models also have more pullback to the bars and small diameter grips, along with jiffy stand extensions. Regular height Limiteds have heated hand grips, not so with the low. A different seat and shorter rear shocks may be all you need to make a standard height model work.

It's not just the height.... Low seats are quite a bit narrower.... your legs can go straight down instead of out to the sides.

Wink

I can't flat-foot any of my bikes with both feet, although I can put one foot down flat. Being a short-**** 'twas ever thus! To manoeuvre my bike I routinely do so from alongside - trying to move a heavy bike while seated on it and being short in the leg is unwise, to say the least. I don't know of any training programme which teaches us to move a bike using our feet while seated on it.

I have a '16 FLHTK. I put 11' ProAction shocks in the rear and it was perfect. A much different bike than stock. I have a 29" inseam at 5'10".
And I cannot live without heated grips!

And to GRBROWN - lower those bikes! Get safe my Brit Brother.

I backup my dyna all the time but, can only do that with my 2" heal boots on. A bagger is a little heavier. At 62 might wet myself if I had to back up that beast.

More expensive than a pallet of Depends....

Plus labor of course.

I'm 62, 29" inseam, overweight, out of shape, balding and struggled with full height '16 FLHTK. Lowered the rear 2" and it made a BIG difference.

You can do this.

Well, I am 63, 5"6", and a 28" inseam, and do very well on Ultra limited Low. But, I did have to add the heated grips.

Cool

I dunno - all these young whippersnappers - I'm 71 so there! Oko, thanks for the suggestion, but my bikes stay as they are! Too late in life to change now, besides I value the ride quality and cornering clearance. I actually raised the ride height on the Sporty, to improve both - which I achieved just a little.
