I talked to a tech at Head Quarters today, BTW very nice people, and we came up with the following....
hq-0034 cams, 10.5:1 pistons, 95" cylinders, copper head gaskets, and a good dyno. He said a lot of people he knewdirectly haddone this mid-level upgrade and were very happy with the results. Aprox cost of all the parts is 900-950. He said I should be able to achieve 90hp/95 ftlbs with stock heads. Low to mid rpm range for a power band. I think I will try this set up and I'l let you all knowhow it works. Oh, and he did recommend JE pistons... and to stay away from Keith Black and SE'scast pistions. His opinion I guess...

Well the man knows his **** since he does this for a living. I can tell you first hand that JE pistons are one of the best. You have to look at it this way. If he was to reccomend lets just say brand X pistons and you have a problem with them then just how long do you think he's going to be in business? My friend, he reccomends them for a very good reason. THEY WORK and are reliable. Any talk about head work and prices?. I'm doing my 98" build this winter through HQ.

Cool, I just ordered everything I need for the build. Should be here in a week or so...[sm=roll.gif]

Heres 1 question, since I have PCIII, I won't need to have anything downloaded by HD dealer to the original computer will I? I'm thinking I only need to adjust PCIII. I found a map on their web site that should be close, then off to the dyno.

You did the right thing, going with Doug,I know I'm happy as hell with his parts in My ride.He knows how to build power and he loves hearing back with your results. He's a man that wants to help you get what You want out of your bike instead of just trying to sale you one of everything he can.You should be able to just load a new map into your PC but You'll probably want to get it tuned at the Dyno afterwards. You're gonna love it.
