Just got back from our trip to Co, Wy, Mt, Ut and most recently South Dakota. For our trip from Sturgis to home we had planned on a liesurely 2 day ride. But then the better half changed my mind and we decided to run the 820 miles in one day. Well, after 13 hours on the road we made it all safe and sound except formy sore A$$. As we pulled into the driveway it occurred to me that I could go another 180 miles, and while not an official Iron Bottom run it would be a major accomplishment to remember. Then sanity returned just long enough to park the bike and get to a cold adult beverage. Maybe one dayI will try for the real thing. Just not in the very near future. Ouch!

On the 1,000 mile iron butt you do not need to have it pre approved to get the award. 1,500 mile and more you do. You do need their ride form to keep up with stops and breaks and of course gas recipts. Sounds like a good ride to me. I really enjoy long rides. I go on the trail of tears ride to Ok. every year and the last day you are in the saddle for over 3-4 hours non stop. Last year I got a gel pad to go on my seat; great product. For me I would have paid double that it cost if I had know it was that good. On my uc the seat is good, better than any I have had on a new bike. I am sending m,y seat to BadX so I can get my feet on the ground better with the memory foam.

check out the Air Hawk seat pads, they aint' nothing as soft as an air pillow to sit on.
