Default Installing F47 Bars - Connector Pin Question

Tomorrow, I am going to install Factory47 bars on my '16 RGU. When I dismantle this multi-pin connector, do I need to keep tack of where each pin (female) was positioned when I reassemble? In the F47 video showing the install, the guy does not mark them. I am assuming I DO need to replace in the proper slot, but wanted to check with y'all.

Each pin has a different colored wire. Replace exactly as they came out?

Yes you do,take a sheet of paper and draw a diagram of plug and mark what color of wire goes to each spot in plug.
now I put factory47 bars on my 2017 roadglide and I didn’t have to pull any of the plugs apart.
I’m not sure what year they changed the size of the plug.i believe 2016 or 2017.
but if I was you I would find out it a lot easier to run wires on them 1.5 bars.

Thanks RDC401 - They are going on a 2016 FLTRU. I'm sure the fishing the lines through the bars will be the biggest time-consuming thing. We'll see!

I used my phone to take pics as a backup to the factory manual I have. The wiring diagram in the back tells you which location on the connector everything goes to. the connector has tiny little numbers on the back side of it to help with this if you get messed up somehow.

Thanks Mike - Good idea re taking a picture. Now that I know I do need to be vigilant about reassembling the connector, it'll be no problemo.

You may not need to disassemble the 6 pin plug. I installed new handlebars on my RK yesterday. When I removed the throttle assemble there were two smaller plugs inside the handlebar that I disconnected. I then slid the harness down and out the center of the handlebars. Pull the throttle out first and look for the two small plugs.

Thanks Cogswell. I'm just following the F47 video that does a great job of detailing the installation so I tend to take their advice but will definitely look carefully at the conectors as it'd be great not to need to disassemble much...though not a big deal. The Factory47 bars have a serious "turn" the wires need to make vs a round curve bar.

I'm pretty sure it's the '14 and above models that there is no need to depin. It might make it easier but not necessary. I did not remove mine, same as Cogswell above, no issues

don't be surprised though when you have codes to clear the first time you start it. Just clear them and move on.
