97 Ultra sat too long without new gas
I had back surgery twice over the past two years and my 97 Ultra sat unattended in my Texas garage about two years. There wasn't much gas in the tank and now the evaporation has produced orange crystals all over the tank cap. Of course it will not start and since it has fuel injectors, I guess a complete tank, line and injector cleaning is required. Anyone have a video or link to a good teaching site for such an endeavor?
Thanks

The factory service manual is as good a reference for that job as you will need. I just completely rebuilt my fuel tank (new filter and pump) plus cleaned it. My injectors were cleaned as well but all I did was spray them while I had the whole intake off the bike.

If your 1997 is fuel injected then there is a fuel sock filter then a fuel pump screen and then a screen for injectors.
A tank cap is not the same as looking inside the tank.
We can not see from a distance and there is minimal information.
Did the bike operate before put into storage?
What was the condition of the motorcycle before placement into storage? did it run? miles? good shape?good history?
What does mean "it will not start mean" ? Does it crank with its own battery? Is the battery and charging system good?
Can you hear the fuel pump prime?
If the bike was in excellent shape and in full running condition before placement into storage then a drain from crossover line and fill with fresh fuel should get it running.
Keep in mind that a piece of liner about the size of a USA quarter can come loose while riding and block fuel sock and this can be rather common (one time) and require a dump and fill of tank to clear it out. You will probably have to remove fuel tank access panel to clean and wipe inside of tank if that happens.
Also keep in mind that your bike might have a CRANK position sensor connector under the painted side cover located on throttle side and connector can get loose causing motor to shut off over bumps or making starting very difficult due to loss of wire signal contact.
That CRANK position sensor connector is a black pencil thick push and turn connector that can get loose and the fix is a zip tie in a figure 8 position to keep connector from separating and then zip tie the wire to frame a few times.

My wife's '89 Honda 50 scooter sat since 2001 with the same gas in it. Once every year or so I'd start it up and run it until warm.
I finally drained and refilled it this year. No fuel stabilizer, auto lube means oil injection, no mixing there, it ran great before i drained it.
