Default Ultra classic

I have a 2013 ultra classic its so tall I have trouble handling it when my wife rides with me. I lowered it the cheap way with the bolt on kit of coarse now it rides like crap. I wanted to see how low I could go without dragging 2 inches works great for me. Now I need help with the right shock so i can do away with the bracket and get a softer ride I need to stay somewhat close to the 2 inch drop I am currently at

With an UC you can get lower with a good aftermarket seat. Probably drop you 2 inches.

Wink

Also consider getting sturdy riding boots with thick and grippy soles. I've never been able to put both feet down on my Glide in almost 30 years, but get by well enough with Mrs B on board. I've only dropped it once with her on board - on a slippy surface and when almost stationary!

I have a Corbin dual tour on my Road Glide. Very comfortable, especially with a riders backrest. Don't be deceived by the plushness of a seat. The Corbin looks like a board but looks are much more comfortable than a person would think.

Default Ultra classic

I have very good riding boots one of the problems I have at stock height is when i turn the bars stationary and at slow speeds the bike wants to lean over after I dropped it 2 inches in the back this went away

The best seat isn't always the softest.

The stock seat on my Road King was really soft.. and it killed my back and but after 30 minutes.

My Corin Dual Tour is not soft but I can ride on it for hours and hours with no issues.

Red face

I also have a Corbin and love it, however for those of us who are short of leg they have a high edge which can reduce leg reach.

All bikes will want to lean over when you turn the forks as you describe. That is simply because the point of contact of the front tyre moves off-centre, in the opposite direction to the direction of turn. Dropping your rear end 2" is not a cure, it simply makes the poor bike unpleasant to ride, as you have discovered! Put it back to stock and ride more often - experience and understanding why such things happen should help you master your bike pretty soon.

The drop didnt really cure it as much as it made it easier for me to deal with this is by far the heaviest bike I've ever owned then you put my wife on it at 155 all the **** she packs in the trunk and it gets hard to handle at the stock height out on the road its great but at the red lights its a bear

I think even if i do change seats the 11.5 progressive shocks may also be in its future
