Default How to Gut the Stock Header

Gutted my stock header. Figured I'd snap some pics to help the next guy. Enjoy.

Are you happy with the results, did you gain any felt power, or was it just louder?

I'm happy with the sound improvement, which was the ultimate goal in the first place. It was a stock head pipe, and I had SE slip-ons. I'd say the improvement is around 40%-50% louder than stock. Not bad for a free mod.

I didn't notice a power gain, but I'm on the stock tune. I'm sure there would be a more noticeable difference when using a tuner.

You should notice a drop in exhaust temps on the right side. The passenger will for sure.

nice job done in one piece. wish I had these pictures when we were debating crosstalk. I see front/rear exhaust mixes before and after the cat.

Looks like the 09 still has the large bungs near the heads, like the 08 - earlier. Should you expect to see crosstalk, or does it only apply to the exhaust with the smaller bungs near the cat? Just wondering because I was researching that and couldnt come up with a definite answer. I'll be adding a FP3 soon.

The cross talk can happen with the post 09 headers. If you look around at most aftermarket headers the placement is similar to the 09 the exception being the "h" type 2:1:2 and true duals.
