Default volts light burned out

Hello!

The gauge light in my volts gauge is burned out.

Harley wants 16 bucks plus for four, I'd rather just get one to fix it.

I read somewhere about Sylvania 185, but that it is a bright white light and doesn't match.

Any ideas on the cheapest way to fix the light?

Thanks!

~Joe

Are your asking how to change it or what to use? I’ve bought every replacement bulb I’ve used over the years for my 09 at the nearest auto parts. The only one that costed more than a dollar or two was the headlight. I’m pretty sure all you need is a common dash bulb.
To change it you will have to remove the outer fairing.

Pull the old bulb out and check it. I never had a fairing bike, but a lot of times a bulb's color is because it is behind a colored lens/filter. Kind of like how your turn light and brake lights are yellow and red.

Well the factory lamp has a yellow "condom" over it to give the faint amber hue. Apparently, you can sometimes carefully remove it and put it on another bulb. Dealer cost is $16.44 for a set of 4 lamps......OUCH!

I took those amber covers off a long time ago and threw them away. The lights are much brighter without them. The bulb is a standard auto part.

You could always replace all of your bulbs with LEDs and change the color as well.

Remove the fairing and remove the bulb.
Got to auto parts store and cross reference it and leave less than $2.00 on the counter.
One should be able to remove that yellow condom.

Ship your tack and speedo here and have the color changed to match. Now you have a very cool custom dash.

Had mine done in all blue. Get lots of compliments on it.
