Default Changing cam cover gasket

So oil leaking around can cover 2 years after cam upgrade. Can I get the cover off and replace that gasket without taking my header apart?

First things first. Are you CERTAIN it's the cam cover leaking and not oil from the air cleaner/cranks case vents? Second, if it is indeed the cam cover gasket it would depend on year, model of bike and the exhaust system.

Yup, make certain where the oil is coming form.
And one may get away with just loosening the header at the exhaust manifold and loosening the right side footboard/peg.
Dependent on the model and year of the ride.
You tube has lots of guys who post work arounds, some good some not so good and some really good.

If you’re running a stock header you should be able to remove the heat shield and get the cover off

It’s a 2012 103 roadking. I have Vance and Hines power duals on it. Also had a cam job done about 2 yrs ago. I’m about certain that oil is coming from the bottom edge of the cam cover. Took it on a trip to dallas (devils tit hot) and once parked down there it started pooling a little under the bike. So took it over to strokers mc and they tightened/sealed the plugs underside and said good to go.(awesome people there! Super fun place. Go there when in Dallas.). But it continued on my way back. I’m going to try to change the cam cover gasket but dread taking off that header!
