Default Replace Bearing Sleeve Spacer

I bought some new to me wheels. They have the ABS bearing in them and I will need to replace the bearings with the non-ABS bearing. Looks like I can buy just the bearings, or I can buy a wheel install kit that includes the Bearing Sleeve Spacer that goes inside the wheel. Is recommended or worth replacing the sleeve and therefore buy the kit, or just replace the bearings?

Thanks in advance.

Provided the wheels are compatible (I'm not talking about ABS/Non ABS), there is no reason to replace anything but the bearings. The sleeves for ABS and Non ABS wheels are the same part.

Not knowing what the new wheels are but if you're going from a 1" bearing to a 25mm bearing I believe the sleeves are different.

Only the outside bearing spacer is different, sleeves are the same. 3 mm difference on the spacers.

I'm in the process of removing 1" bearings from a 9 spoke mag wheel to convert to 25mm and in addition to the spacer on the primary side, required to switch the inner sleeve to part #41900-08. The new sleeve is about 3/8" longer than the one I am replacing.

Let's cut to the chase here. It astounds me how anyone ever gets help here.

OP

What year and model bike do you have?
What year and model bike did the wheels come off of?

My question wasn't really about fitment, but about best practices. Like "don't reuse caliper bolts or bearings". I just wanted to do the job right.

But, I like where this going, so I appreciate your questions! The bike in question is in fact the 2008 FLHTC in my signature with the wire spoke wheels. Let me focus on the front wheel for now. It's a 19" Enforcer off a 2017 Road Glide with ABS.

I had been looking at the microfiche to view the schematics on both the 2008 and 2017 wheels. It appeared to me the bearing sleeve spacer is the same part number (41900-08) for both years. And just to clarify, I'm referring to the sleeves that goes inside the wheel, not the spacers on the outside (because yes, I know these are in fact different between ABS/non-ABS). Am I on the right track or am I missing something?

The sleeves are the same and the bearing bores are the same. However, you're trying to put a 2009 or later wheel on a 2008 frame. The front may work but my guess is the rear is gonna take some finagling. But, I don't know that. Save yourself a ton of time and PM this guy

He knows more about wheels, spacers and fitment than anyone here. An update after he gets you straight will help someone in the future looking to do what you're trying.
