Funny I watched a S&S video about lifters the other day. It takes 42 seconds for oil to start flowing into the rockers.......on a cold start up.

True on an unprimed brand new system. If the system is already primed (full of oil) oil will start flowing immediately upon start up.

Old rule of thumb, wait until you can feel some heat in the rocker box covers.
What I do, I open the garage back Bike out & start it up. Next put on helmet,
& open front gate, put on gloves. I ride down the driveway to the street & I
stop, & wave to my wife as she closes gate. I ride slow for a few blocks, &
that is my warm up. I have neighbor down the street he idles it 5 minutes,
then rides off. I also have a friend that starts his Bike, & then rides off.

If all else fails go back to the rule of thumb,
wait for warm to the touch rocker box covers.

John

Start, put on helmet/glasses/gloves, putt down my street, then hammer down for the day.

I let mine idle about1 minute just long enough to get oil to the heads and take it easy for about 2 miles

You might want to

From the manual:
"The engine should be allowed to run slowly for 15-30 seconds. This will allow the engine to warm up and let oil reach all surfaces needing lubrication."

I give mine a good warm up, it's not a stock engine, piston to bore tollarence was requested tight. The oil temp gauge is moving rocker boxes are warm, take it easy down the road until it seems to respond well.

It takes me about 2 minutes to get out of my neighborhood. That’s my warm up.
