Seat problems Hammock
Well just when you thought you couldn't have a crappier day, My seat broke. The metal tab that holds it down with the screw snapped off. My wife and i went on a short ride to test out our new windshield and when we got back i noticed the tab laying on the fender. I removed the seat and saw the plastic parts all broke. Our seat is 2 years old. Its the HD Hammock. I have the adjustable back rest which i just installed a couple weeks ago. My first thought was it caused the issue but i ruled it out because the seat doesn't make enough contact with it to put pressure on it. At this point i'm not sure what happened. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to repair this?

That sucks. I bought a used Hammock years back off Ebay.
Long story short....once I got it I noticed the rear tab plastic had a crack next to it and it was even in the sellers photos I just didn't see it. They were gracious....and after some haggle I kept the seat for $150 total. Seat was nearly new otherwise.
I used some zip-ties to reinforce the metal tab (it isn't completely broken)...and its worked ok. No one sees that part anyway so....
It is strange how an area that gets torque can be so poorly designed though. If the seat sits a little off the mounting hole (like it does on my 08), then you have to push it down to put in the seat screw it puts torque on the tab.....

JB Weld
I'm 63 years old and for the 1st time ever I bought some JB Weld to repair a broken fan guard on my leaf blower. My God, the stuff is wonderful. I been finding tons of uses for it since the leaf blower. I know I'm just being cheap, but its satisfying fixing something and continuing to use it. This winter I'll have to check out the tab on my seat. Maybe I'll epoxy it before it breaks just for reinforcement.
