Default Need Help on TBW

Does anyone know a place online that sales a Throttle by Wire that already has the connectors connected and wired. Might have ran into a problem!

Well, I ordered new bars for my '12 street Glide and I was going to be proactive and take old bars off and take out the throttle by Wire out of the bar. The wiring for left and right control was zip tied to the outside of the bars, but at the bottom of the bar grabbed the TBW wires and started pushing and I grabbed TBW up top and started pulling but it was very hard to push and pull so I was going back and for the pulling and pushing, so one pull it gave and I know why, the wires from the female end of the TBW wire connector came out and so I actually found a diagram for the male and female connector. So I tried to put the all the wires where they go in the connector but I think the little locking tabs in side broke too because wire would lock. So I cut the male connector of and wrapped red, white and black wire in the yellow sheath and the black sheath to the correct color of wire from the male side, solder the wires and put heat shrink over it. So I'm just preparing for in case the throttle by wire doesn't work or the bike back fires, worst case. But I do know I put the right color of wire with the correct red, white and black wire. Sorry for being long! My wife says I have a problem that when I explain something I go by step by step detail. I guess that's the Army in me. So any help?

When you say female you mean the black plug on the end correct and not the green plug in the middle?

The green connector that has the red, white and black wires in the yellow sheath and the red, white and black wire in the Black sheath. Them are the wires that came out of the connector which is the female side and wouldn't lock back in. The little black connector that comes out of the tbw is for heated grips.

The Tape that was wrapped around all the wires was so tacky and sticky. I took the tape off and when I pulled on some it just fell apart so, I assuming it came from the factory like that!

Many people cut the green connector out and solder like you mentioned. This should work fine as long as there's no other damage. Alternative is to buy a Screaming Eagle TBW assy pn#32310-08 that doesn't have green connector.

Very few bikes actually have a connector on the heated grip harness. I was just making sure I was on the same page as you. To hell with that green plug. It's nothing but a damn nuisance anyway. Add in whatever length you need for extension purposes and solder that puppy up and forget about it.
