Default Change fork oil weight with progressive springs?

Going to install progressive fork springs in my 2013 RK and thinking maybe 10 weight fork oil too? Or just stick with stock 5 weight? See Bel Ray also makes a 7 weight maybe a good compromise? What have you tried and recommend?

Think I went with 5 weight in my 2003 Ultra because that's what I had. But if I correctly recall, with the Progressive springs, that oil has no effect on front suspension handling. So I'd use whatever they recommend.

The heavier oil will serve no purpose other than lubrication with the progressive springs.

depends on what you're looking for as far as stiffness on the front end. I went with 15w maxima since I went with the 1" lowering springs and I have a 21" front wheel.

Prog. monotubes use a gas charged cylinder and spring the oil is for lube and a anti corrosion benefit.

Sorry for a slight change in subject; I am thinking of trying heavier oil in my forks to counter the dive as a first try before going to cartridge inserts. Make sense?

yes it does. you will need either 15w 20w or a mixture of different weights.
note: all manufacturers weights are not equal

The reason I asked is when I changed to progressive springs in my old Dynaglide it made a big difference in comfort and brake dive. However, I did not change the fork oil. In theory heavier oil should change the damping and combat brake dive even further but I am concerned it could make the ride harsh. Keeping in mind I ride two up most of the time and and we are heavyweights I figure a bit more damping could help?
