Thumbs down Scheduled servicing of Road King

I recently got my new Road King serviced and was quoted a menu price for the 5000 mile service at a UK HD Dealership.
On return to collect I have been charged extra for checking and adjusting the Drive belt-- (Something included in the service schedule as part of that service and shown in the Handbook service schedule)
Has anyone had a similar charge imposed without warning???
I only have the dealerships word that that work was carried out!!!
My Road King was not showing any sign of mechanical need prior to the adjustment.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has has a similar servicing experience with franchised HD dealerships.

I referred the matter to HD Customer services and they are fence sitting and providing no answers which is not good.

something doesn't sound right. The belt adjustment is part of the service.

Surely if it is shown in the handbook as part of the service you paid for they haven't a leg to stand on ?

It should be included in the service fee. I can't believe they have the audacity to actually CHARGE EXTRA for checking the belt tension.... Press on the belt, look through the window, DONE!

Was the "menu price" accompanied by a list of specific services to be performed? I'd want something like that before I'd agree to any services.

I would think that anything that is called out as required for 5K mile service would be included in the price, not added on as an extra. But the dealerships are independent business and are free to operate how they operate.

I'd be pushing back on this one- and I'd do it before paying the bill.

Once they have your money, the incentive to change anything is gone, and I doubt the MOCO would intervene in something this minor (from the MOCO's POV).
