Default Fuel management system needed when adding slip-ons and air cleaner kit?

I inherited a stock 2012 Street Glide from my brother and one of the first things I did was replaced the stock exhaust with V&H Monster Rounds slip-onsand I just ordered the Arlen Ness Chrome Big Sucker Stage II Performance Air Cleaner Kit to replace the stock air cleaner. Is it a necessity to add a fuel management system such as a V&H Fuel Pack 3? I know the bikes run lean stock and aftermarket exhaust and a breather kit will make it run leaner and the FP3 will help with that but what is the potential harm not having one? Thanks in advance.

Yes it is necessary. FP3 is what I have and works well. Have a 2011 works great BTW

Slips ons only, no. Slip ons and breather kit, yes.

As soon as you increase airflow, you must increase fuel flow as well. They run lean to begin with. Definitely invest in a good tuner. I'd recommend an FP3 (currently running one on my 2013 ultra classic).

There have been a couple of articles written on this subject and both have said the newer bikes you can do one mod and drive around for a few weeks, the ECM/O2 sensors will make the adjustment, Then in a few weeks do the second mod and the ECM will make the adjustment. With that said, the ECM will adjust to factory lean and go no further so the lean condition is still there. So a tuner is in the best interest of the bikes air/fuel mix. I've also got the FP3 on my Road Glide Ultra and was amazingly simple to install. Suggestion: plug in a battery tender while loading the map to help the battery voltage from dropping while ignition is on.
