Yes, the point is they should last much longer than they do, they should at least outlast a set of tires. My first front and rear ABS bearings were bad in less than 5000 miles.
The seal for the ABS bearing is on the inside requiring it's removal to check or add grease. By that time you may as well just replace it.

While some have found insufficient grease in the bearing, I suspect that a lot of the issued caused with the bearings by improper install.. TCs up until 08 had vary few problems but when HD went to the 6205 bearing they changed the spacing on the hub. Their fix was half-assed. They didn't get the outside bearing spacing correct and the tool they used can put heavy side load on the bearing. The only way to assemble wheel bearings on 08 and later baggers (earlier sporties) is to use a flat bearing installer not dished.
